It started on a tour bus.
Reba McEntire and her husband Narvel Blackstock were riding down the road when the conversation turned to names — they were building something bigger than a music career, and it needed a name to match. The Cher film Moonstruck had just come out, and something about that word stuck with them. Something -struck. They turned it over a few times and landed on Starstruck.
Perfect, as it turns out. Because Reba will tell you she was genuinely, legitimately starstruck her entire rise through Nashville.
"I remember opening a show for Merle years ago and not even being able to go up and introduce myself," she once said. Minnie Pearl. Kitty Wells. Loretta Lynn. Dolly Parton. These weren't just names to Reba — they were heroes. People who had paved a road she was still learning to walk.
That sense of reverence became the whole philosophy of the company. Starstruck Entertainment grew to include artist management, music publishing, a clothing line, and a recording studio. A whole little empire, built on the idea that the music and the people who made it deserved to be taken seriously.
